Re: Gorda Ridge Activity and N. Cal Earthquakes |
Hi M.J. I don't think the quake activity in the Gorda Ridge area has had much of an influence for quakes in the Bay Area, but I do believe the most recent solar storm is responsible for some of the quakes. Most particularly those in the known volcanic areas such as Lake Pillsbury, Salton Sea, the geyser area and the Coso Junction area. In the past when ever we have a particularly strong solar storm there has been a slight increase in quake activity through out the State. I will admit that this time there appears to have been more then a slight increase. I have asked some seismologists I know if geomagnetic storms do increase quake activity. I answers I got didn't answer my question. Some said yes, and the others said no. Take Care…Don in creepy town. Follow Ups: ● Re: Gorda Ridge Activity and N.
