Hi Don, First I'll throw in my two cents on the Bolinas quake. I am uncertain its a foreshock, but feel it is definitely not an aftershock. However, since the time it occured the north bay has had more quake activity and in some unexpected places, than anytime in the last twenty years. If you will recall that crack I showed you in the pavement not to far from Olema, it runs south to north at an angle. That exactly how it arrived at my house and its the same direction from south to north in a eastward trend that the recent earthquake patterns are developing. I don't think its quite so necessary to classify it as a foreshock as it is to notice what's happened since that time and the influence it places on future events. On the ear tone thing, I find it curious moreso than anything else. I'm not at this point looking for quake matches so much as to determine the factors I can gleam from seeing what does show up, the time frame, the magnitude and eventually figuring out when there are asperities breaking vs an actual quake deliverance. But it takes concentration, documentation and pulling all of the elements together. I'm learning and that's the most important part of my reason to study the phenomenon. As I've stated on many occasions, what is on the earth today, under and around it has been here since the beginning of time. The major problem is we humans need to refresh age old knowledge, that which we left behind when machinery replaced the time to think, feel and sense. Ear tones and dreams have one common factor. They are both doorways to the future, some see the signs and heed the warnings, in the majority, television and listening to the sounds of all of those other voices in the end may be the downfall of modern society. To many have been influenced by how we should think. The Native American people may have lost their native lands, but from them we should learn patience, wisdom and the connection to mother earth.
