In my opinion I don't think the Bolinas event was an aftershock of 06, 93 years later? Possibly, but I don't think likely.

As for foreshock, as Petra has pointed out indeed the N. Bay has seen a step up in seismic activity since Bolinas. Only time will tell, but there are two scenarios. A) I think Don and Petra are right, this is all leading up to something larger, i.e. Rogers Creek. But, B) keep in mind this may be a small multi year swarm of several 3,4s and 5s that may be over and then nothing for the next few decades. Again, short history of the bay areas suggests option A.

One last thought, quite possilby the Bolinas quake may have occured on a very short and overall inactive side branch to the San Andreas but not exactly on the point of the San Andreas that ruptered in 06.

What frustrates me is too bad CA wasn't totally settled just 1,000 years ago, imagine how much we would know now about these events and swarms!
