The value of anecdotes |
We've seen long threads about anecdotes recently, some saying they're valid, others saying they are not. The truth lies somewhere between. There are those (on other boards) who post anecdotes of long-past hits or chatty stories of what someone reported. These are worthless as evidence. Cherry picking and hearsay. But there are stories of things happening from different people in different places at different times. These might be evidence enough to stir some interest. I would put eartones in this category. Widely reported but unorganized. Worth investigating at a low level. Certainly not mainstream.
