Well, Chris, I like to think that some of the postings, by others as well as myself, would be better described as "argument" rather than "bickering," but I'm sure you were reading them wholesale in order to catch up. Anyhoo - yeah, I found the abstract for your poster in SRL. Very interesting - there seem to be so many possible sources for the Big One in and around L.A that it seems they have really been dodging bullets since the days of the Spanish Explorers. I attended the 1994 Pasadena meeting of the SSA, and took the field trip to the Palos Verdes peninsula, where various fault features and related formations were pointed out to us. I don't know if the PVA was known by that name at the time, and I'm sure you and others have vastly improved our understanding of the geology and seismicity of that area in the intervening years. Certainly an M7.3 there would be a worse catastrophe than the worst-case scenario SAF quake (for southern California's SAF, anyway).

Wish I could make it to SF for this year's meeting, but have been invited to crew aboard a serious contender in the Newport Beach-Ensenada race the following week, and will be doing a shake-down cruise during the week of the meeting. Good luck with your presentation.
