Mike...actually, I was serious that I have not read most of the posts the last week, and don't plan on reading them. When I am at UCSB there is so much going on compared to my home office that I have trouble keeping up with email that demands answers. By the way, I can't complain too much about "off topic" posts because I'm guilty of quite a few, including blatant ones (but clairvoyant ones?) the day of the last presidential election. But, I try and earn the right to post off topic by trying to post enough interesting stuff on topic. OK: I'm moving to Columbia MO. Kind of ironic that we are moving from Columbia University. Wife in Suburbia is French and pronounces it "Misery": we'll have to get her to stop with that...Hmm...does Google Earth and flying over it on the way out of LAX count as visiting Palos Verdes Hills? Guess I should get there on the ground. local.live.com allows one to zoom in to see resolution where I think you could more or less see people...the swimming pools certainly are sharp. But, you can't fly around in 3D like Google Earth so a figure on my poster is from Google Earth. I checked out a USGS Professional paper by Woodring (sp?) et al from 1946 with lots of cool pictures of the uplifted marine terraces....but neglected to scan some of these for the poster and don't have time now...there were also cross sections that show the broad anticlinorium. A paper by Nardin and Henyey from 1978 and other later break the large structure up into 5 anticlinoria but by the definition of "anticlinorium" in the geologic dictionary and our offshore mapping, there is only 1 complex structure... OK...back to email and poster.. Chris
