Hi Glen. How do you know that the lake level coincides with quakes along that segment of the fault? Seismologists have known for a long time the affect that dams and reservoirs can have on quakes. The construction of the Auburn Dam was stopped because it couldn’t be shown that the dam wouldn’t trigger quakes and or how large those quakes would be. In this it wasn’t so much as to what they knew, but what they didn’t know.
