Sorry to hear about the pain associated with the high pitched sounds and hope they get better soon. Didn't know you were in Portland. My brother is living there in Tigard with his kids and my Mom and Dad just recently moved there. My brother's girlfriend is setting up an operation for my Mom scheduled for next wednesday for a tumor. She's 71. I might head up that way myself.

As to being able to sense activity in other parts of the world it doesn't surprise me as this is well known. Why and how, I don't know and its just not people, animals do as well.
I brought up the Santa Cruz event because I didn't see any activty there prior to todays quake. Maybe there was some activity that I missed.
