My argument that tides can have an effect only when they are strongest went entirely over her head. She thinks either they do or they do not effect, so I'm trying to have it both ways if some remote corners of Alaska or the SW Pacific have a few triggered earthquakes, but the West Coast does not. Also, the difference between the twice a day rise and fall of the sea and the biweekly modulation of the amplitude of the tides got short shrift. My work shows weak correlations only with the former, but Berkland's windows are entirely built on the latter. Still, an enjoyable read.
