Hi Glen - small world!! I'm retired CDF, too. Though "Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion" is correct, I also seem to recall the acronym referred to (perhaps humorously) a "Ballistically Launched Expanding Vapor Explosion". This would be in reference to the tendency of the vessels to propel themselves with great vigor over large distances . . .
