I was in the "California Division of Forestry" back in the early 70's. I made FAE, but I had a knee blow out off the job, which ended my suppression career. I tried to get a prevention position, but there were none available statewide, so I moved on. I did work on prevention plans and disaster prep for many years with SD County.

Seems like all kinds of scientific terms got changed, but everybody understood the physics. There worst incident for CDF involving LPG (that I know of) occurred in Yucca Valley in the 60's. A tank farm caught fire, and the crewman was killed during a hose line attack on that fire. The engineer was badly burned, but went on to complete his career. Good to hear from a brother firefighter.
