I live in Valencia where ants have always been a problem because it is built on old apple orchards and onion fields. I have been having the worst battle this year with ants, but I have noticed dozens of houses being "tented" for termites lately - something quite rare until recently. I know nothing of termites' activity before quakes, but it seems worthy of noting.
