Re: A Possible Way Of Predicting An Earthquake??? |
Don This same study was done in LA. It was found that the 94 Northridge earthquake was caused by a build up of strain that was attributed to 1933 Long Beach AND the 1952 Kern county quake. They feel that after Northridge and Landers the San Andreas in San Bernardino and the thrust structures of Ventura County are the most likely areas to have had increased bars of pressure. But as you just said, nobody knows how many bars of pressure increase it takes to rupture the fault in a major quake.
