for Barbara |
Hi Barbara If its any consolation, from what I understand the both the Santa Monica and Newport faults aren't viewed to be in any position to fail anytime soon. Both faults have relatively low slip rates and neither fault whos segment runs underneath the basin has ever failed in recorded history (or even past 10,000 years?) I think its more the blind thrust system in the Valley and Ventura that they think took the hit in increased bars and possibly any faults offshore.
