Middle C |
Hi all: I have a question that I hope I am able to articulate properly. Bear with me. When the earth moves, the energy is released in the form of waves. A musical note is produced and percieved by way of the same mechanism. According to one web site, Middle C (the note located in the center of the piano keyboard)oscillates at 2.61hz. Thinking in terms of a porportional relationship , is there a way to find an eq magnitude that would correspond to the oscillation of middle C? For example, if a magnatude 3.0 quake causes the earth to vibrate at X cycles per second, is there a formula to determine a correspoding cycle in the audible (or musical) range? Anyway, I hope the question makes some sense. Thanks all, Russell
