Chris; Jim's standard window is syzygy -1 thru syzygy + 6 for new and full moons. Only one of them will be chosen as a prediction depending on perigee and tide range at Golden Gate. In the current case the predicted window was Dec 10-17. But for major quakes no location is given, so it wouldn't be useful in any case.
