Why so many quakes at 6km ? - That's the edfault depth to indicate a shallow quake - after its reviewed (if it is) by a seismologist, if the data is any better it will be updated. The area NE of barstow (that's Hwy 15) is under increased stresses from the Hector quake - there are a number of faults in that area - there's nothing particularily unusual happening there (yet) - there was up to 5.2 meters of land offset along the fault in the Hector quake - expect the land around it to be adjusting for a while.
