Re: A Dream..

Hi Canie & Bob,

In almost every disaster in history there have been countless stories about people who had dreams about them, before they occurred. The Titantic was a truly good example and well documented. However, in relationship to dreams as a precursory signal, very little credance is allowed.

From my observations of dreams in relationship to earthquakes over the years, the one element that is often missing is the time. It seems one has to learn to understand the timing from experience and yet even that will change in variance as well.

However, if you will take instrumentation and other precursory phenomena along with the dream I believe something can be gained. If you have a highly instrumented area, which I believe Whittier Narrows probably is, then is it not time to check the strain meters and see if any changes are evident at this time? If not, perhaps it bares watching. Has there been any clustering of late and then quiesence followed?

Again, you have 2 elements of a prediction, place and magnitude, but with a little use of what's available, perhaps timing may not be so difficult to estimate.

However, causitives may make an interesting statement. Like I started to look because of dream or series of dreams, but the scientific methods in the end gave me the last part of the equasion for the timing.

Perhaps a new way in looking at earthquake prediction? Provacative I think. Worthy of a little homework.

Just A Thought....Pat
