Hi Canie, Sometimes its not always in the research, but in conversing with others of like mind that often times will reap the benefits of useful discources. I found this quite often at the AGU when I met others from around the world. So often I found they were in agreement with me and when pointing out certain theories I possessed, they would agree. Though some not, with them, I heard something new, "I agree to be positively skeptical." That was rather nice. While there were a number of lectures, due to my schedule I was limited in what I could attend, however, in one I heard a scientist confirm a long held idea I had about a certain Bay Area fault and to hear him put it into scientific terms was music to my ears. He confirmed everything I had thought about that area. Now as I attempt to learn how to equate "b value" to this same location I will be most fascinated to see how it fits in with all of the surrounding data. Often times, one must work on a certain project or area in order to grasp the fullness of the information available. Hopefully, by the time I learn how to do this with some scientific assistance, there will be something else I can learn and try that out as well. However, while I am calculating "b value" I shall at the same time be learning to speak Italian. I woke up a few days ago with an intense desire to learn, so now I shall. So with that I will say, Buona notte....(good night) Pat
