Hi Chris. According to USGS there was no surface rupture. The Oceanic Fault has a NE dip. For right now that is the fault they are looking at as being the cause of the quake, but so far they have nothing solid that would allow them to say it was the Oceanic Fault. Have to agree with you on the solar storm bit. About the only time I have ever seen an increase in quake activity is when we get an X-flare. Most of the time if will affect the areas that are volcanic in nature. Even then it’s not a sure thing.
