Re: Parkfield, Anyone? - Thanks Canie! |
Hi Canie! Thanks so much. It looked like the color of sand when I viewed it, but I couldn't seem to find anyone who could confirm my observations. Thanks for taking your time to do so. Though the view of the Carizzo Plain is impressive from above, not quite so much as Mt. St. Helens, but equally fascinating. So often I think of Harry Truman at his lodge on Spirit Lake and how he said he could hear the sounds of chain saws from fifty miles away. It must have been such a peaceful place to live. The only place I've seen that compares to it, is Siskiyou Lake near Mt. Shasta. It has the same quality. This summer I think I shall have to go camping and capture some of that outdoor wilderness experience. Nothing like a clear sky, celestial wonderment and a good ghost story around a camp fire. A few marshmellows, a glass of wine and a good nights sleep is sure to follow.
