Roger, here is another suggestion.

I am continuing to receive expressions of interest regarding your proposed program. My suggestion would be to create trial versions of it which are small enough that they could be easily sent to people for comments. You might include an earthquake data file for just part of a year to keep the program a manageable size.

As comments were returned you could then decide on a final program version which could be stored on a CD and circulated in that manner if it is too large for e-mail or for downloading from a Web site.

Bear in mind that most of the comments would probably be from people who know relatively little about computer programming and who might not understand how time consuming it can be. And so some or even many recommendations for added program options might be impractical as they would take to long to add.
