Re: Special Sessions on North Anatolia fault |
I will have to look for you then - I hope you aren't speaking during on of my finals! The meeting is the same week as my finals - I did want to help them out and volunteer - I'll see next week if they want to use me or not. Yes - Powerpoint is a great program - I think they've actually required it this year - no more slide projector thingies that don't work right! My clients (photo labs) aren't overly joyed about such progress though. I've done about 5 different powerpoint presentations myself - three of them were basically the same presentation with a little adjustment for each audience - it is nice. And it makes the presentations seem rather professional. One thing one of my instructors pointed out to me - or suggested - makes one presentation better than another - is that the slides shouldn't have all the words in your speech on them, or even the bullets - the slides should be mostly graphics (pictures, charts, diagrams) that add to the speech - I've seen a lot of presentations since I was told that (including giving a number of my own) - and I have to agree with her - powerpoint presentations with all the words or outline of the speech can be boring or even take away from the audience's listening pleasure (as they are reading rather than listening to you talk) I remember discussing it with her (or arguing as the case may be) - and now I have to agree she was right. This was about 24 hours before I was supposed to do my own presentation - I had to scramble to re-work it - it turned out great!
