As I have said in other notes, the impression that I myself have formed regarding the science of forecasting earthquakes is that it might be thought of as being 1% science and 99% politics. And that news report basically reinforces my opinion regarding that. It also causes me to wonder if certain parties might want to devote a little more time and energy in the future to “public relations.”
