off-topic-snow in suburbia, plus EQs

Sorry about the off-topic, but no one is posting today-working on a proposal (target date tomorrow) as 2 feet of snow fell. Wife and I both working on proposals, but much distracted by the snow, we would go out and shovel the driveway periodically-by dark the whole 25 m driveway was done-but it is still snowing. I guess I'll have to stay home tomorrow and work on the proposal rather than go skiing-I can goof off because I only have 1/2 time funding now (which is better than usual...).......OK, a little science-wife MC in suburbia made a figure for the proposal showing a scarp that may be a fault projecting through a sharp offset of a submarine canyon. If we get funded we will find out if the offset is due to slip on the fault. This fault zone is about 100 km offshore of south-central California. It is just a little west of the relocation of the M7 1927 reverse slip earthquake. That earthquake was 4 days after a M7 very near its exact antipode-which was part of perhaps the largest known swarm-a bunch of 7s....in the S Indian ocean. Maybe Lowell will chime in here. San Nicolas Island and Vandenberg Air Force base are both moving SE at about 4 to 5 mm/yr, so something is going on way out there.....
