Hi Billion, Thanks for the updates on the solar/geomagnetic effects. In terms of activity in California, you might want to check out the Daily Earthquake summaries on this board for April 15, 16, 17, and 18. These describe the lull and the sudden increase in activity in California which accompanied yesterday's geomagnetic storm caused by the CME you noted yesterday. Once a supply of energy has been released in an area, it often occurs that another lull follows. The triggering effects of today's and yesterday's geomagnetic storms and the large earthquakes that followed, may have helped release much of the available strain in California. But often there is a 3-5 day delay between strong geomagnetic storms and larger-scale activity, so we are probably not out of the woods on this one yet.
