I think the main problem is the few people who post here. When there has not been a recent quake of broad interest, there are few posts that would be interesting to new people. I agree we should leave content to what it is: mostly earth science but including some climate/atmospheric science. It would be good to have young earth scientists posting including students. And more posts by people who have been here a long time but rarely post would be good.

By the way, a post by me was probably mainly responsible for driving Amit mostly away. I had been meaning to explain. There had been dozens and dozens of posts on his predictions including explanations about retrograde motion of planets, and the actual values of gravity of planets in comparison to earth and moon. I actually was supportive of some of Amit's comments on statistics where I disagreed with Roger (and in fact never got good explanations of certain things from Roger).

But when Amit just ignored all the gravity reality and went back to the same thing, like facts did not matter, I found it frustrating. There is a big problem in the USA with the large percentage of people who don't believe in evolution, think the earth is less than 10,000 years old, think climate change evolution is a hoax put on by people like me. I just was talking to an old friend who has a geology degree and he thinks it is a hoax that we landed on the moon.

It's a dangerous slippery slope to holocaust denial, etc. So, I have no patience for this sort of thing. If there is too much of this and it is not called out, then either I will call it out or stop posting.

Chris
