Hi All. I’m sort of thinking out loud so if I start to ramble I hope you will forgive me.

There appears to be an increase in activity near Mt. Hood and at Mount St. Helens. Nothing new here, but the fact that they lay very close to the same longitude sort of got me to thinking as to what may be going on.

At first I got to thinking may one, or both are going to erupt. Nothing spectacular or anything like that. Just some ash and maybe a little bit of gas. Just enough to let everyone know that they have a little fire left in their souls.

Then I thought to myself why the both of them? Why now? What could be causing this at both locations? What was the common connection that would cause both to show indications of life? I thought about that for a while then a little voice in the back of my head that sounded a little likes Petra’s said “the Juan de Fuca Plate is getting ready to move.” Now she has never told me that, but whenever were together, or on the phone she’s always telling me there is something building in Washington.

Then I started thinking about the activity off the coast of Vancouver Island. Could there be a connection? The Juan de Fuca Plate is the life source of these two volcanos’ as well as many others in the Cascades. Could the Juan de Fuca Plate be getting ready to move, or is it already moving? Could this activity be the warnings I had wrote about earlier? Could the most recent earthquakes near Spokane be an indication that the western edge of the North American Plate has just about reached the point where it can’t take any more compression? Could it be that we are headed towards another megathrust quake, or maybe something a little less? I don’t have the answers although I wish I did. I have the feeling there are a couple of seismologist and geologist wishing the same thing about now. Take Care…Don in creepy town
