Re: By The Seasons |
Boy, do I have an ant problem too. Mine is they are all on my refrigerator trying to get in to it. I've never seen that before. Speaking of seasons, I was wondering has anyone ever done any research as to the possibility of quakes being linked to seasons. I am very aware, quakes can occur at any time, throughout the year, however, I have noticed that some historical shakers have occured around the same time of year. Specifically March-June and September-October. The March-June theory seems to really hold up for the Bay Area where they had 06 in April, 84 Morgan Hill in April, 86 Mt. Lewis quake somewhere in end of March/early April, the eastbay swarm of 90 was in April and May, as well as a series of 5+ magnitude aftershocks in April from 90 from Loma Prieta. In S. Cal in recent times they have seen quakes in June I.E. Landers and Big Bear as well as Eureka. As for October, there was of course Loma Prieta, but also Hector Mine, and Whittier in the lates 80s. I'm sure there is no connection at all, but, it does seem at a glance that CA's more recent notable quakes have more often than not been clustered around these months. Just a thought.
