Dyan, I am by nature a peaceable person, and remember fondly the warm welcome you extended to me when I first came to this board. I've enjoyed many of your posts. But after reading the above post (over and over to make sure I hadn't misread or misunderstood it), I cannot hold my peace. With all due respect to you and your beliefs, I have rarely heard anything more racist in my forty-seven years than the notion that dark skinned-people bear the mark of Cain (evil). I see it as no more than a handy theory applied retroactively to justify racial intolerance and all the misery that it leads to. I seriously question this "Biblical Archeologist's" motives in espousing such a vile notion, and I wonder why you would promulgate it here. Is there no one else on this board who found this archeologist's supposition (for that's all it is) patently offensive? Am I the only one? Maybe I don't belong on this board. Cathryn P.S. I'm white.
