No - not a stupid thought about the Tejon pass at all - it is past due given the law of averages.

The thing I'm not sure about is given the way it is locked up - maybe the stress will be relieved somewhere else unexpected. That's what is so fascinating about these things geologic - we just don't know what good ol Mother Nature has in store for us. There's definitely motion between the two plates but where will that motion manifest? Not necessarily where it has before...

But then again... maybe Parkfield will have a big one that goes south to the pass... I think the last big one was 1857 with an average of something like 140 years between quakes in that region....
