New Madrid earthquakes

Among the areas expected to experience heightened far-field seismicity from
Peru is/was the New Madrid region. The last event in the area occurred just
5 hours after the first mainshock in the Peru area on June 23. CERI is now
reporting a new shock in the region of Ml 2.4. This follows the latest Peru
event by 9 hours. The far-field forecast was published on this web site on
June 23, you may wish to look at it for further details.
