“Energy” is the new “Education” – November 20, 2012 |
“Energy” is the new “Education” – November 20, 2012 For a long, long time I have been sending information to U.S. Policy Makers stating that it is critically important that they develop new sources of environmentally safe, affordable energy. And I even sent them a report last month that said, “This is what a new source of energy looks like.” And, presidential candidates etc. keep stating that we need to develop new sources of energy. So, why haven’t any been developed? It recently occurred to me why they haven’t been developed and aren’t being developed. “Energy” is the new “Education.” In the past whenever politicians wanted to get elected or reelected, Education was one of their favorite topics as in, “I will be the new Education President.” It was a safe topic. Everyone likes to hear about education. And if you are an elected official you can talk about it endlessly without ever having to do anything about it. Apparently people got tired of hearing about it. And so, the politicians have now switched to saying, “I will be the new Energy President, Senator, Congressman, Governor, Mayor, Dog Catcher” etc. People like to hear that someone is promising that the price of a gallon of gasoline will get lower so that they can afford to drive to work, get to the grocery store, and take an occasional vacation trip. I wonder how long that “Energy Fad” is going to be with us before people discover that the only energy their elected officials have any intention of providing them with is all of the hot air that is out there before elections? These are personal opinions.
