I tend to agree. Sandy is a perfect example of some were prepared and others not. The sad truth is they have been warned every year. Worst case examples talked about and yet chaos ensued after the storm. Many deaths were after the fact in that they occured during clean up or because the person was attempting some measures to clear trees or wind damage or otherwise recover from the initial damage. New York City is now exploring what to do to prevent it from happening again. I think the barn door has been left open too long and it will be hard to put preventative measures in place quickly. My heart goes out to these people. Just being in a high rise with no water or power is a challenge in and of itself. I feel it will be some people will prepare as best they can and others will not for some time to come.
