Japan Earthquake – August 14, 2012

As previous notes have stated, the following powerful earthquake has occurred:

2012/08/14 02:59:42 49.78N 145.12E 26 7.7 Japan Area

So far there don’t appear to be any reports of problems associated with it.

My forecasting program is still undergoing a lot of fine tuning. But running the latest data through it for some quick analyses I found the following. These are all UTC times.

A low intensity EM Signal detected at the following time was an extremely good match for the earthquake. However, neither the EM Signal nor the earthquake itself had strong line peaks on my charts at 145 E. So, that signal by itself on the chart could not have easily been used to point to where the earthquake would actually occur.

The following three low intensity signals did have very strong line peaks at 145 E. And they could have been used as indicators regarding where the earthquake might occur. However, I don’t circulate Earthquake Warnings at the present time based on low intensity signals.

This is the latest high intensity EM Signal that looks like it might have been pointing to the approach of the earthquake. And it should be remembered that I myself am detecting perhaps only 1 in 3 signals that are being generated. Most of the day my personal forecasting detection processes are not active.

Other people could be doing this work and detecting the approach of their local earthquakes. Earlier versions of my computer programs are available for free at my Web sites. And even some widely available Ear Tones (also free) will work with the programs. Earthquakes don’t occur where I live. And if people living where they do occur aren’t concerned enough about their own lives to try to forecast the earthquakes then there isn’t much that I can do about that.

The statement that “You have to prove that your forecasting program works before we will consider using it” is just an indicator that people really aren’t very interested in learning how earthquakes might be predicted. If a friend or relative were to hand you a $100 bill as a birthday present and say that it is yours for free, would you demand proof that it is a real $100 bill before accepting it? I doubt it.

These are personal opinions.
