Parkfield 4.5 |
Boy, in the olden days people posting here would have been excited about a Parkfield M4.5. They might have even predicted it. It is strike-slip, so liable to be on the San Andreas fault. Wonder if there was a little slip on the San Andreas observatory at depth. Cholame segment south of Parkfield segment has not broken since 1857. Segment northwest of Parkfield is, I think, creeping and considered not capable of a major quake. Leaving the Island tomorrow for temporary return to heartland.
