Update - April 2, 2012

Roger is doing the TrueBasic programming work faster than I can generate charts and post updates for this thread, hence the slow post update speed.

The Ring Map part of the EPmap programs is fully operational. And some charts are scheduled to be displayed here showing the various types of data that the EPmap programs have generated related to the catastrophic March 11, 2011 earthquake in the Japan area.

At the same time, another part of the EPmap programs is being developed. And it is actually already operational for simple types of wave data such as ocean tide data.

Years ago Roger and I developed a freeware download computer program that we called SunMoon.exe.

It can generate various types of data related to the positions of the sun and the moon in the sky at any given time, their distances from the Earth, their gravitational strengths relative to the Earth, and their subsolar and sublunar locations.

The EPmap programs can generate charts that show earthquakes as a function of time in a given Time Window. Older earthquakes in that Time Window would be at the bottom of a chart. More recent ones would be at the top. The other axis on the chart is earthquake longitude.

The feature that is presently being added to the EPmap programs is the ability to display those sun and moon data on one side of those Time Window earthquake charts. Those data would appear as waves because over time, the sun and moon locations and gravity strengths etc. form wave patterns relative to the position of the Earth.

The charts will also have the ability to display ocean tide and Solid Earth Tide data as waves. And as I said, some of those data can already be displayed on the charts.

Another addition will be the ability of the programs to display time dependent data such as earthquake occurrence time and longitude with the oldest data on the bottom of a chart (the present programs do that), or, the ability to show the oldest data on the left side of the chart and the most recent data on the right side. And wave data such as the sun and moon location data will then display on the bottom of the chart.

As far as I am aware, the SunMoon.exe program that Roger and I developed is still the only program easily available on the Internet that can generate subsolar and sublunar data. And the addition of those various types of sun, moon, ocean tide, and Solid Earth Tide data to the EPmap program combined with its already existing abilities to display earthquake, volcano, world map, tectonic plate map, and precursor data should make it an increasingly powerful and versatile computer program for researchers around the world.

Finally, the EPmap Perl programs are also being merged into my own Etdprog.exe earthquake forecasting programs. So my personal forecast data will then display along with the other EPmap data. And that will provide the EPmap programs with the ability to rapidly scroll through time dependent data through the use of the up, down, left, and right arrow keys. At the moment the EPmap programs can only display data for a single fixed Time Window. To change that Time Window the time range has to be manually changed.
