Re: EARTHQUAKE FORECASTING SUCCESS !!! – March 14, 2012 |
Roger, Once again, it is a matter of trying to compare apples and oranges, or comparing metric system units like the meter and English system units like the yard. One of the main goals of the EPmap programs is to get everyone moving along on the same set of train tracks. Earthquake, volcano, and solar storm data are easy to find. But earthquake forecast data are scattered all over the Internet and are also available to some extent through communications with independent research groups. So, a program that can display all of those forecast data using the same format bascially let people convert everything to either apples, or oranges, or meters. Arguing about which forecast data might be accurate or of little use is just wasted effort if there is no way to compare or even see the original data.
