Found this article on the Beeb. Apparently this was shown at AGU.

The article has a couple of nice pictures, one clearly showing the extensional faults along the subducting slab. The work also gives a new more accurate measurement of the Challenger Deep.

If only we had this resolution for the whole seafloor... the discoveries that could be made. I've spent many an hour wandering the ocean floor in Google Earth.
