That is exactly what HW thinks (heartland wife). She works with multibeam echosounders a lot. I use the gridded data in my work, in the same software where I interpret sub-bottom acoustic adat (seismic reflection data).

Back in heartland from AGU. HW and HD are driving back; HD had my car for 3 months. I don't need a car much when I stay put in the heartland: easy to walk or bike...although a bit colder and darker now.
