Berkley Quake+Hayward Fault Observations

So this is speculative in nature, however I think activity is def. increasing in the East Bay last 6-8 months. I know how to run the numbers on my own, so I will do so when I get home tonight, I COULD be wrong.

Another thing thats eyebrow raising is the depth. I do know that there are two components of the Hayward Fault in terms of depth. There's a free flowing section that creeps along with minor 1, 2s, and 3s at LESS than 5 miles. Below 5 miles is where it is thought the fault is locked and where the 6+ quakes have and will originate. That said this quake is at the 6 mile level, the other 3s that occurred (was it last month?) were at 9 miles depth! So in last month activity has increased at these greater depths. Over the past 10 years whenever there is tremor on Hayward I've checked to see depth and they almost are always under 5 miles. So this is interesting that there is both increased activity and at the deeper so called "locked" areas.

I'll report what I find on my perception of increased activity, but I suspect there is in this region.
