John, you amaze me! Where did I say that the Constitution mandates no limit on the budget for the military? You are making things up. And as for your increase in military spending by tying other line items to defense, that is asinine. You can't compare apples to apples when you start doing that. Where does that end? In the last ten years, the defense spending has been under budget in 7 out of 10 of those years, even as we had a deficit each of those 10 years. You have only to look at welfare, entitlements and interest on the debt to see where spending is really exploding. And you are the one who is fantasizing! Europe, the Middle East and Asia are not cowering. Europe, Japan, Saudi Arabia and others are most grateful for our military might. You don't see those countries, and others, kicking us or our bases out. They know they need us for our co-existence.
