Strong EM Signals were detected at the following times:

2011/08/10 00:40:00 UTC
2011/08/09 23:38:00 UTC

It was my intention to circulate an international Earthquake Warning based on those signals. And that might still happen. However, the later of the two signals was detected about 15 minutes before a 5.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Pakistan. And so some additional data analyses will be done before a formal warning is circulated. The signals might possibly have been linked with that approaching earthquake although its magnitude would normally be below my detection limit for an earthquake occurring that far from the U.S.

Normally when two strong signals are detected within a few hours of one another as those two were, there is perhaps a 75% chance that the earthquake responsible for the signals will occur within 4 or 5 days.

However, when the signals look like they might have been lined with a strong solar storm such as the one that occurred in the past few days then that 5 day time window might not be accurate. The expected earthquake could be delayed for a week or more.

One of my contacts who is strongly earthquake sensitive has also been reporting detecting a lot of EM Signal activity during the past few days.

NORTHWEST COAST VOLCANO

On August 7, 2011 I circulated an international E-mail report that discussed, among other things, some strong EM Signals that were detected earlier this year. Earthquake Warnings were circulated and posted here in connection with some of those signals.

The E-mail report stated that I have not yet been able to identify an earthquake that looked like it was clearly responsible for the signals. However, as I stated in my earlier posts here, my data analyses indicated to me that the signals might be linked with some type of seismic activity taking place in connection with the Juan de Fuca tectonic plate that is off the U.S. Northwest Coast and the Canada Southwest Coast.

If you do an Internet search of news reports related to volcanic activity you will find a number of them dated around August 9, 2011 stating that scientists watching the Axial volcano that is in the Juan de Fuca plate were able to predict a recent eruption of the volcano that might have occurred last April if I correctly understood the reports. So, my E-mail coverage of that topic preceded their announcement by perhaps 2 days.

My data pointed to around 47 N for possible seismic activity. Axial is at 46 N.

It is interesting to note that I believe that I was able to fairly clearly detect EM Signal activity around the time that the Axial volcano last erupted which was back in 1998 if I remember correctly.
