Well, Chris, the risks from a tornado and a quake are certainly different. Further, you can literally go outside and see the darned thing coming at you. A tornado is a much more tangible thing than simply shaking ground. It's a psychological difference. I think a quake would have to be predicted to a very precise level to elicit such a complacent response. Either that or a lot of false alarms, which is why most predictors aren't taken very seriously at the moment.
