Earthquake Forecasting Research Update – March 22, 2011 |
EARTHQUAKE FORECASTING RESEARCH UPDATE – Posted by EQF on March 22, 2011 This is an update on my earthquake forecasting research efforts for people who are following those efforts. EM Signal Charts And The New Bulletin Board Two major software problems got solved last weekend. And efforts are now underway to update the earthquake forecasting charts at my Web sites. Some of that work should be finished today. One of the main goals related to those charts has been to store them on my Web sites and then have detailed discussions regarding the significance of the data on the charts. The charts have been there for a while. And I was hoping to be able to have those discussions on this EarthWaves board so that people around the world could review the information and comment on it here on this board or through E-mail exchanges. It unfortunately became quite evident that this would not be possible. There are too many negative comments on this bulletin board. Researchers want to know what the charts are saying, not just see constant arguments. So, a new bulletin board has now been created. And the plan is to invite people to post notes there that will say something useful and not just constantly attack the data. The plan is also to continue posting notes here that are more conversational rather than technical. It is really unfortunate that it has not been possible to use this bulletin board for displaying that type of technical information. Some of the data I have received from researchers in other parts of the world are in astonishingly good agreement with my own chart data. And the other researchers’ data were collected using entirely different types of monitoring technologies at locations on the opposite side of the planet. I have never been given permission to display any of those data. And I believe that is largely because those other researchers have been afraid of having their own work attacked by the people posting notes here. Hopefully I will be able to get those researchers to share some of their data for public display once my new bulletin board is fully operational. Observable Earthquake Precursors Another important project for that new bulletin board is to help put together detailed lists of earthquake precursors such as large, fresh cracks in building foundations that people can watch for to see if an earthquake might be approaching. Such a list could be especially important for people in Japan who should probably now be watching for signs of approaching strong aftershocks for their recent devastating 9.0 earthquake. If such a list had been available on the Internet in time then perhaps people in New Zealand might have been able to spot the approach of their recent destructive earthquake that was reportedly an aftershock for a powerful earthquake that occurred there last year. That type of data collection is being done in the People’s Republic of China. But as far as I am aware, they don’t publicly discuss either the types of precursor data they are collecting or the data themselves. There was and might still be a program in the Philippines where that type of data collection is being done. But there has not been too much said in public about it. And, I would guess that it has not yet worked too well for them. There have been publications and books written about earthquake precursors. But the books aren’t going to be much use to the general public when they are sitting on a library shelf. The information needs to be available at some Internet Web site. People connected with the ISEP (International Society for Earthquake Precursors) have done some work in putting together such an earthquake precursor list. But they are not Internet experts and did not get too far with the effort as far as I can tell. Human Earthquake Sensitivity Another useful project for perhaps a duplicate copy of that bulletin board might be to present some detailed information from different people regarding Human Earthquake Sensitivity and perhaps even animal types of earthquake sensitivity. People who are sensitive to the energy fields associated with approaching powerful earthquakes can experience a wide variety of unpleasant and even harmful symptoms. They can include bouts of severe depression and anxiety and even serious medical problems. Several people with whom I have spoken had to actually go into the hospital more than once because their symptoms got so bad. Human Earthquake Sensitivity needs to be discussed in detail at some Web site so that people who have to live with it and their doctors actually know what is happening. People are not just imagining things such as Ear Tones and extremely severe headaches. I sent a formal letter regarding this subject matter to the U.S. Surgeon General and a well known public group a number of years ago. But that was during a previous administration. And I don’t think they were too interested in looking into the matter. Plans are underway to send another, more detailed letter on the subject matter to the present Surgeon General and a number of medical journals and medical groups. And I expect that there will be a more positive response. People reading this report should expect the usual from the EarthWave board’s “experts” who know from their mystical revelations or whatever that there are no such things as earthquake precursors, Ear Tones, or Human Earthquake Sensitivity. These are personal opinions.
