Follow-up from Puerto Rico/ Virgin Islands Trip

Hi everyone,
First, I want to thank you all for your kind wishes and interesting perspectives on the 5.3 quake that occurred just prior to my trip. It put my mind at ease and I kept a close watch on the shoreline when on the beach in Puerto Rico, just in case of a quake or a landslide on the PR Trench - a place that fascinates me.
Interestingly, while I was cruising and oblivious due to no cell/Internet access (that was reasonable in price, anyway) a pair of 5.2+ quakes happened almost underfoot, but went unnoticed. The only effect, in retrospect was that in both instances, just prior to the quakes, I was unable to keep myself from falling asleep - one of those occurred after a full night's sleep and despite several cups of coffee! Everyone thought that something was seriously wrong with me! Then suddenly I was wide awake! This has happened prior to 5.0+ quakes in the past (such as the Hector Mines EQ in 1999) in the past and I found it interesting to see it in the rear view mirror once I returned to the land of web access. I fully admit that this is weird and no one should consider this scientifically logical but rather just my personal, very odd quirk.
As far as cracks, etc., it is always difficult to tell in a moist, salty climate as to what is new and what is old just going unrepaired. There were plenty of cracks and uneven bumps everywhere in Puerto Rico. I did nnot that they were repairing what seemed to be broken water lines in several locations at the hotel in San Juan. That, plus the regularity of the activity nearby makes me think that something is brewing in the not-to-distant-future.
Thank you all once again,
Beth
