Three comments: 1. How can you say that you don’t like something when you haven’t seen it? Years ago another earthquake researcher and I created the old QuakeNet communications system (the other researcher did most of the work). And it eventually evolved into Canie’s and the Yahoo EarthWaves boards. So, you are already posting notes to a board that I believe I helped create. How do you know that you wouldn’t like the next version even better? You apparently like this one. 2. You have to remember that the Internet is “magic.” If people don’t like the format of a bulletin board for example, it can be changed! 3. Progress in many areas of science is moving much too slow because scientists around the world are running into communications and politics “speed bumps” that they can’t get over or around. This planned bulletin board would hopefully enable them to get past those speed bumps. If it does ever get built it should be a type of Wickipedia for science researchers. These are personal opinions.
