I thought I read that the article stated activity rates are up, therefor the chances of earthquakes of all magnitude are higher. There is nothing inevitable about having a big quake soon, in fact chances are against have another as strong as the M7.2 anytime soon. The quote of Rundle "The probability of a larger earthquake on those faults could be high within the next year or two,” is no doubt a misstatement or misquote - I'm sure he meant to say "high FOR the next year or two".
