Here are some more comments by CalTech on the recent quakes:
16:47 PDT, Thursday, May 17

The swarm continues, with a M3.0 at 3:29 pm, a M2.9 at 3:31 pm, and a M4.1 at 3:56 pm, a M2.8 at 4:03 pm, a M3.2 at 4:23 pm, and a M2.8 at 4:33 pm. The M4.1 quake was felt in China Lake, Ridgecreest, and Caliente. If activity continues at this level overnight, I will stop listing all the M3's individually. You may see a map and list with the "recent earthquake activity" link above.

Even though Coso Junction is the nearest town on our reference list for the automatic locations, these quakes are occurring on the west side of Owens Valley, in the Sierras. The location is very close to that of the March 15, 1946 Walker Pass earthquake, which had a magnitude of ML6.3.
