A sense of direction

I have high hopes that this proposed, sophisticated Internet Bulletin Board will be created some time during 2009. If it does get created then I believe that all of these discussions regarding earthquake forecasting will cease. And the science will begin moving forward at a tremendous pace.

The board would probably already exist except for the following:

--- The people running the Meteoquake Web site don’t know anything about CGI programming.

--- I don’t have time to do the work myself. I have my own forecasting computer program that is taking all of my free time. And I have not yet had time to go looking around for CGI programmers who do have time to help develop the board.

--- Researchers around the world who are attempting to forecast earthquakes might be quite intelligent. Many certainly are. But they are also, in general, so disorganized, and they have such a poor sense of direction, that they have a difficult time getting anything done.

The scientist who was monitoring radon gas near were that earthquake in Italy might be a perfect example. And he reportedly admitted that in public by saying that,

“He didn’t know who to turn to.”

In my opinion, people need to be careful about circulating forecasts in public if they “don’t know who to turn to.” The government of Italy reportedly got really angry with him.
